Dean & Barbara Cosper

We are a team of hydroponic professionals devoted to promoting hydroponics, the future of agriculture.

We promote the use of low energy input greenhouses using renewable energy resources.

We both have BS Degrees in Horticulture from Auburn University. I have a Master's Degree in Entomology and Barbara has a Master's Degree in Plant Pathology. We have been involved in horticulture and farming most of our life and have commercially grown strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, pumpkins, peaches, plums, melons, various vegetables and cut flowers.

Our horticulture careers began at the University of the Virgin Islands in St. Croix, USVI. We have traveled throughout most of the Caribbean and have also worked in Florida, Alabama, and North Carolina. In 2014, we moved to Montserrat in the West Indies where we built a hydroponics greenhouse and established "Deano's Tomatoes," a local business specializing in hydroponic tomatoes and other vine crops.

Food production and farming resources in the world are declining. Last year's drought was one of the worsts on record and it is only expected to get worse. Very little information is available regarding hydroponics and its benefits, but we can help farmers succeed in spite of drought, insects, and disease. We have consulted with governments, farmers associations, and resorts worldwide to help inform and establish hydroponic facilities. We can custom design hydroponic facilities for both home and commercial use so everyone can be more self sufficient and healthy in food production and consumption.

Our hydroponic skills include growing greens and vine crops using Bato Buckets, perlite grow bags, and coco coir grow bags. We are skilled in monitoring and maintaining optimum growth conditions, such as nutrient pH and electrical conductivity (EC), and using nutrient film technique (NFT) systems. We can teach these techniques to farmers, agriculture agents, resort staff members, and home growers and explain how to control the environment to yield the highest quality produce.
